Epistaxis (or nosebleeds) can be a relatively common occurrence in some people. The inner lining of the nose contains many blood vessels that, when injured or affected by other environmental factors, can sometimes result in bleeding. While most nosebleeds can be controlled at home, some may require medical intervention.

Treatment for nosebleeds

Rapid Rhino® epistaxis products utilize one or more inflatable balloons to provide gentle, direct pressure to bleeding vessels (similar to pinching your nose) in order to control the nosebleed. The balloons are coated with a lubricating fabric designed to provide a slippery surface for easy insertion and removal of the device without adhering to clots or scabs that form when the bleeding stops. The device may be left in place for up to 72 hours in order to control the nosebleed.

Contact a physician to find out if a Rapid Rhino epistaxis device is right for you.

What is epistaxis?

Epistaxis is just another term for nosebleed. While most nosebleeds can be stopped with traditional techniques, some may require medical intervention such as the use of a Rapid Rhino® epistaxis device.

What is Rapid Rhino?

Some nosebleeds can occur deep within the nasal cavity making it difficult to address with traditional techniques. Rapid Rhino is an advanced technology that uses an inflatable balloon to provide gentle, direct pressure to bleeding vessels in the nose from the inside. The balloons are coated with a lubricating fabric designed for easy insertion and removal.
