Laryngeal & Tracheal Procedures

Laryngeal and tracheal disturbances can be caused by a variety of things, most of which go away in a short time. The most common are a sore throat, excessive use of the voice (such as yelling at a soccer game), or a viral infection.

In some cases, however, laryngeal and tracheal disturbances may be the sign of a more serious problem due to the formation of wart-like growths in the voice box and throat. These lesions may be due to a recurring infection that can lead to upper airway obstruction and breathing difficulties. With Coblation®, your doctor can remove these wart-like growths quickly and effectively, with a specially designed device called a Coblation wand.

Coblation is not a heat-driven process. As a result, surrounding healthy tissue is preserved allowing for a fast and easy recovery. Patients typically return home shortly after the procedure, and can experience a noticeable improvement within one to four weeks.
